How to contact Seagate 24×7 critical data recovery services
The link to Seagate data recovery services is https://services.seagate.com/online_request_form.aspx. Fill out the form, and they send you information. If you drop the disk drive off to a UPS store, then they pick up the costs so shipping is free (unless you want to overnight it). The two recovery centers in the USA are in Chicago and Santa Clara. The Seagate (US) 24 Hour Critical Response Number is: 1-800-475-0143
Seagate takes the disks, does an analysis and provides a quote. I expect (but can not confirm), that if your disk suffers from the boot-of-death, then they will fix it for free. Conversely, if the disk died due to other reasons, like a mechanical or electronic failure, then they tell you how much it will cost, and then you decide what to do. You are under no obligation. In my opinion, this is the best and only practical option for you. Yes, you could send the disk to OnTrack, or anybody else in the recovery business, but I do not expect they would comp you the expense if the drive was bricked due to the firmware bug. In my opionion, your disk died due to a mechanical failure, and not any firmware bug.

This is pretty plan and simple. Data Recovery Group also has a deal.

if my disk was affected (based on serial number on the seagate tool), should I contact this place (the data recovery services), technical support, or warranty support?
